Farmhouse Culture "Gut Shot"

Have you had your Gut Shots today?

What are Gut Shots exactly? The juices of fermented vegetables which you drink in small doses. What vegetables exactly? One example is cabbage. It is fermented by various lactic acid bacteria, and then becomes sauerkraut. The juice extracted from the sauerkraut is the Gut Shots. When you open a new bottle, you notice the fizz effect of the fermentation and thus the presence of the beneficial lactic bacteria.

What’s all the buzz about concerning probiotics?

If I had to pick one health and wellness theme I focus on everyday, it would be probiotics, prebiotics and the gut flora. As a result, I  try to maintaining a lot of good bacteria in my digestive system.

Based on my personal observations, and according to many clinical studies, good bacteria in my gut directly and positively impacts my mood, my immune system, my skin, my digestion and even my weight !

Therefore, I am always looking for new products and ingredients to consume on a daily basis, that contain live cultures. Thus my discovery and love affair with Farmhouse Culture Gut Shots. This probiotic beverage contains high levels of healthy bacteria.

What about the taste?

I have tasted the five different flavors

  • Classic Caraway
  • Garlic Dill Pickle
  • Ginger Beet, Kimchi
  • Smoked Jalapeno.

My favorites are the Kimchi and Smoked Jalapeno flavors because I love their spiciness. Also if you are flavor-shy, I would recommend to start with the Garlic dill or Classic flavors.

I recommend you gradually introduce probiotics, from different sources, into your diet on a daily basis.

How many shots exactly?

If it’s your first time, I recommend you drink the equivalent of 1 shooter (30 ml) of Gut Shots a day for 14 days.  You need to give your gut a chance to get acquainted with its new guests.

In conclusion, I really notice a difference in my overall well-being when I don’t get my daily fix of at least one source of probiotic. Warning, you might get addicted too and feel great!

Gut Shots can be purchased at La Moisson, a natural foods store in Ste-Thérèse.
