Healthy French Fries with Sweet Potatoes or White Potatoes
This recipe is gluten-free and also suitable for an anti-inflammatory “hypotoxic” diet; so enjoy these healthy French fries!
2 large sweet or white potatoes
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon tapioca starch
Salt to taste
A splash of coconut oil
Healthy French fries: do you prefer sweet potatoes, white ones or maybe both?
- Preheat your oven at 450oF.
- Peel the potatoes and slice them into French fries.
- In a bowl, mix together the fries, the tapioca starch, the onion powder and the salt. Add a splash of coconut oil and spread the fries on a baking sheet that you have covered with parchment paper.
- Leave the fries in the oven for 15 minutes or so. Then put the oven at « Broil » and continue baking for about 5 minutes (keep a close eye on the fries during this step) to make your fries golden brown.
My family really enjoys these healthy French fries. Since my two boys have different preferences in terms of potatoes, I use one of each in my recipe. Therefore I succeed in making everyone at the table happy.
